Gold Rush Field Trip Options!
We offer 3 field trips to best fit your 4th grade class
Contact us if you have any questions or want to check on availability for your class or family. This Christian program is specifically designed for 4th grade students studying California history, but please talk to us if you have mixed grade classes or would like to bring your home school family or group. Parents are strongly encouraged to join their kids for a great time of fun and bonding (same price).
The Mother Lode - A 27 hours, one night, 49er campout. Our classic 4th grade field trip.
- $85/person with one free teacher per school - Includes 1 night of camping, 3 meals, our amazing staff, and a program specifically created for Christian Schools.
- Arrive 11 AM on day one and depart 2:30 PM on day two. Offered weekdays April - May.
- Explore California gold mines; learn about the discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill in California; dance and sign during our overnight campout; and pan for gold while still keeping a focus on our savior Jesus Christ.
The Double Jack - A two day, two night adventure that goes beyond The Mother Lode.
- $140/person with one free teacher per school - Includes 2 nights of camping, 5 meals, and our amazing staff.
- Arrive 11 AM on Wednesday and depart 9:30 AM on Friday. April - May.
- Explore restored gold mines; learn about the discovery of gold in California along with the gold rush it brought about; and finish up the first night with dancing and sign around a roaring campfire. The next day you might strike it rich as you learn to pan for gold and what life was like back in the California Gold Rush, including making rope, candles, gold pouches, ice cream, tortillas (yum!), and then finishing it off with a second night of fun and skits around the campfire. We'll wave goodbye after a great breakfast and a little more fun and games.
The Greenhorn - A one day gold rush adventure for first time schools.
- $43/person for schools that have never done a trip with us. This is a special one time deal for fourth grade classes that are interested in checking out our program and want just a sampling before building it into their next year lesson plans. Includes Lunch and our amazing staff.
- Arrive 9:30 AM and depart 4:00 PM. Offered on Mondays April - May.
- We'll start at our claim where we'll learn a little bit about what life was like back in 1854 including panning for gold. Then we'll go explore some restored gold mines and learn about mining for gold. In addition to missing out on an amazing overnight experience this option does not stop at Marshall Park.
