Become a part of the Gold Rush!

Learn about the California Gold Rush and grow in your Christian faith.
With a guides that love God and history, your 4th grade students and parents will learn what life was like back in the California gold rush. We customize each trip (just like you adjust your lesson plans each year) to best fit each group, so the order you do things and exactly what you do will vary. Here are the basic parts that each field trip usually includes:
- Gold Panning in the American River - We'll teach you how, and help you with your technique. And we'll even let you keep what you find!
- Rope Making - We'll make rope by hand that you can then use to tie up your gear or keep your pants from falling down.
- Fun Games - 49ers brought their home town games with them when they came to California, and we still play them today.
- The Nisenan Indians lived in Culluma before the rest of us. Learn how they lived off the land and open your eyes to all the food around you.
- Take a hike and stop and sit for a lovely quiet time along with God in the middle of His creation.
- Mail home a postcard that you printed on our printing press.
- Spend time watching our blacksmith and learn about working with metal.
Stay two Nights for an even greater fourth grade field trip.
Two night trips (The Double Jack) enjoy all of the above plus add in a mix of the following:
- Spend time in our outdoor kitchen as you grind corn into tortillas for a little snack.
- Want some butter for your tortilla? We'll churn some butter to go on your tortillas.
- Take turns turning the ice cream crank as you help create a special topping for tonight's dessert.
- Create you very own candle.
- Make a leather gold pouch to keep your gold in.
